Hsin Chong Construction Group ("HCCG") and Synergis Management Services Limited ("Synergis") have been awarded the Caring Company logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Services for the persistent commitment to social obligations and voluntary services. The objectives of introducing the Caring Company logo are to raise public awareness of good corporate citizenship, to motivate strategic partnership initiatives between businesses and social service sector; and to recognize companies which demonstrate good corporate citizenship.

The logo presentation ceremony was held on December 5, 2002 at the Gordon Wu Hall, BP International House. The Human Resources Manager of HCCG Ms. Jase Fung said, "HCCG has well recognized the social obligation and contribution towards the society. Our staff is highly encouraged to form voluntary service teams to serve the community. The Hsin Chong Trainees Group and some colleagues had continuously provided home care maintenance services and paid visits to the needy such as elderly people, lived-alone, disable persons and single parent families. HCCG will support and encourage more staff dedicating to voluntary services aiming to establish a caring, harmony and mutual trust community. More needy will be benefited through various services provided by these voluntary groups."

The Assistant Director of Synergis Mr. Wesley Sze expressed, "It is very honorable for Synergis to be awarded the Caring Company Logo which betokening the recognition of the company's effort in promoting social harmony and improvement. It is also very encouraging for the staff who had part panted in the voluntary activities. In the past years, the voluntary groups "Synergis Momentum" had actively organized various voluntary activities in estates managed by Synergis. They included providing home care maintenance services and thorough cleansing of the abode for the disables and elderly people living alone, paying home visits to the needy and organizing festival celebrating activities for the residents to enhance community communication. Synergis also participates the "Discover Mai Po" Charity Walk organized by World Wide Fund for Hong Kong annually to instill the consciousness of caring ecology into the staff. The company will continue to encourage staff to join caring voluntary works to demonstrate the company's commitment in bearing social responsibilities."

Full support was immediately enlisted from enterprises in all trade when the scheme of Caring Company Logo first launched in this year. All together 259 companies were awarded the honorable logo. The awarded companies should fulfill at least two of the following criteria: volunteering, family friendly, employ vulnerable, partnering, mentoring and giving. In addition, the companies should be engaged in ethnic business and had not committed any criminal offences in the past year. In the coming year, the awarded companies may display the logo in the staff or publicity to demonstrate the companies' care and commitment towards the society.
