Mr.
Wesley Sze, the Assistant Director
of Synergis Management Services Ltd. as well as the Chairman of the
Synergis Momentum addressed during
the ceremony that: "A number
of large housing estates were under
the management of Synergis which
provided quality management service.
A lot of single elderly who live alone
in these estates really need our care
and support. Thus, we form a voluntary
group named Synergis Momentum in
March 2002, which originates from
two voluntary groups, Synergis Momentum
and Kinetic Group. The new voluntary
group hopes to co-organize volunteer
activities with the owners' incorporations
or local residents unions in order
to promote the spirit of caring and
mutual support in the community and
eventually help the elderly in need
and fulfill carrying out social responsibility,
which is one of the core values of
the company.
Mr. Sze continued, "Synergis
Momentum has recruited over two hundred
commissioners of volunteer work from
head office and different management
offices at present. The group has
selected four estates including Leung
King Estate and Lung Mun Oasis in
Tuen Mun, Wah Kwai Estate in Aberdeen
and Wan Tau Tong Estate in Tai Po
as the starting point of volunteer
work. From then on, we will continue
to promote the activities among other
properties in order to benefit the
needy. Following the Dumpling Distribution
Activities jointly organized with
the Owners' Incorporation of Leung
King Estate, Wah Kwai Estate and the
Residents' Unions of Wan Tau Tong
Estate, the group plans to provide
the elderly residents with voluntary
minor repairing and year end cleaning
service as further advancement of
assistance to them."
The
OI chairman of Leung King Estate,
Lung Mun Oasis, Wah Kwai Estate and
the Residents' Unions chairmen of
Wan Tau Tong Estate were among the
guests of honour being invited to
the Inauguration Ceremony. Moreover,
the guests together with the chairman
Mr. Sze were pleased to sign an oath
of volunteer service as a symbol of
commitment to participate in the volunteer
work whole-heartedly. Together they
will bear the social responsibility
of helping the needy of the estates
and community. In order to encourage
the volunteers to join the voluntary
work with more enthusiasm and to promote
the caring and helpful spirit, authorization
letters are presented to individual
volunteer.
