Synergis Management Services Ltd. ("Synergis") is appointed by the Government Property Agency (GPA) to manage 24 properties on Hong Kong Island. The 3-year management contract of contract sum over 135 million commenced on 1.5.2002. Synergis has employed a professional team of more 500 staff to provide professional service to tenants and residents of the properties.

Out of the 24 properties, five are government office buildings including the Wanchai Tower, Immigration Tower and Revenue Tower, the North Point Government Offices and the Eastern Law Courts Building. The total area exceeds 3 million sq.ft. The remaining 19 properties are civil servant quarters comprising 1360 units, 47 blocks situated at Mid-level and Peak on Hong Kong Island.

Mr. Fan Cheuk Hung, the Director and General Manager of Synergis said, "Upon award of the contract, we employ more than 500 staff to provide quality management service to the properties. In light of the security service change from 2 shifts to 3 shifts, Synergis has employed over 280 security guards which is 30% more than the original manpower. In addition, we have employed about 250 cleaning workers."

Mr. Fan pointed out that Synergis won the contract among the many competitors showed that the company's tender price is highly competitive and the well-established quality service meets the GPA's tender requirements.

Mr. Fan disclosed that an outcome-based mode performance assessment system has been adopted by GPA to ensure good quality of service. In other words, the performance is measured in terms of management service quality rather than the number of manpower. Though stipulated resources input is not required, our service in the areas of cleaning, security, repair and maintenance etc. must reach a set standard.

"With the comprehensive and efficient management organization, we have successfully used our resources to form a 500 people professional team to provide the quality management service. In order to attain or even exceed the standard set by GPA, we will closely monitor the staff performance and communicate with GPA and the end-users", Mr. Fan further added.
